Sending and checking websites happen in the contactID extension on your computer: Chrome open with the extension signed in, and "Let AI apps use contactID on this computer" on in contactID's Settings, under Sync & AI access.

What an AI app can do

Find websites

ViewSearch businesses by kind and place (with how many you already have); your lead lists, saved searches and lead credits.

ChangeCreate, edit and archive lead lists, create and delete saved searches, make lead lists from your own businesses (Enrich my file), and unlock lead lists with lead credits (asks first; past your daily limit it waits for your approval).

Send lists and imports

ViewThe websites in your Send lists (and an export of them), your imports, categories and form questions. While an app may see them, contactID keeps a copy of your Send lists in your account so the app can read them; it stays after the app is gone, until you delete it in Settings.

ChangeAdd and check websites (also from your lead lists), Trash and back, retry, change an address, a personal message, merge fields or a category, delete from Trash (asks first; many in one day wait for your approval), answer the Send lists questions, imports, categories and the account copy (deleting the copy waits for your approval).

Sending

Agents

ChangeCreate, edit, copy and delete Agents and their form details, choose the default one, and save or remove answers to the form questions an Agent could not answer. While contactID is sending, a change to what the websites still to go get asks first, and a new reply-to email waits for your approval.

Unlocking a lead list and adding it to your Send lists takes Change on both Find websites and Send lists and imports.

Never available to an AI app

Paying, buying credits, changing your plan, cards, refunds and automatic top-ups; your password, sign-in and email address; creating or deleting accounts; how fast contactID sends (tabs at once and delays), your proxies and captcha keys; and approving, undoing, pausing, changing access or disconnecting on the AI Assist page, which only you do.

Questions

Does the AI app see my password?

No. You sign in on contactID's own page. The app receives a key that works only for contactID's AI address, lasts 15 minutes and is renewed while the connection lives. You can disconnect it at any time.

What does it cost?

AI Assist itself is free. What an app does uses the same credits as when you do it yourself: website credits for sending, lead credits for unlocking, your AI balance for drafts and AI samples. A run you say yes to also uses your AI balance for AI personalization, like your own sends, so an automatic top-up of your AI balance can charge your card as usual; an app's own drafts, samples and unlocks never trigger a top-up. Daily limits for AI apps keep it in check, and you can lower them. Your AI app's own plan is separate.

Which ChatGPT plans can use it?

Apps that can change things need a ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace with developer mode, on the web. On Pro, ChatGPT can only look things up. Free and Plus cannot add custom apps.

Does my computer have to be on?

For adding and checking websites, changing your Send lists, your sending settings and the answers to form questions, and sending, yes: Chrome open with the contactID extension signed in (its side panel does not need to be open; the computer checks for requests about every 30 seconds while an app is connected). Requests wait for your computer and are done when it is back. Finding businesses, lead lists, Agents (except their saved answers), prompts and results work without it.

Can I undo what an app did?

Changes to your own things can be undone for 30 days on the AI Assist page. What already reached people or spent credits cannot, which is why those always ask you first or wait for your approval.

How do I stop everything at once?

Turn off the switch at the top of the AI Assist page: nothing an AI app asks is done (except pausing or stopping what it started), and runs AI apps started are paused, also after their app was disconnected. You can also ask the app to stop sending, or turn off "Let AI apps use contactID on this computer" in the extension.

What does contactID keep?

Each request an app made (what it asked, without passwords or keys, and what happened) for 12 months, so you can see it on the AI Assist page. contactID never sees your chat with the app. See the Privacy Policy.

Asks you first: The first call returns what would happen and a confirmation_token; call again with the same arguments and the token after the person agrees.
Your approval: Status pending_approval with an approval_id; follow up with check_approval.
Computer tasks: Work on the owner's computer not finished within 20 seconds returns a task_id for check_task.

Every change tool: preview: true shows what it would do; idempotency_key makes a retry safe.
Limits (per account, default): 90 requests a minute, 3,000 a day; 20 changes a minute; refusals say when to try again. Past 10 changes that reach people an hour, or 100 websites deleted from Trash a day, requests wait for the owner's approval.
Answers: Up to 60,000 characters; text written by outsiders comes under from_websites or from_businesses.
